Searching: everyone is welcome as long as their willing to pitch in in some way.

@Home is currently looking for users who are interested in being an active part of a release group. We can use video encoders, fansubbers, or friendly users with some spare bandwidth. We are a group that goes for quality over quantity. Also when available we try to use R2J for source over R1 DVDs.
If you come to the IRC channel please at least stay until we can get back to you. Right now we only have 2 active members.

We are looking for (in order of importance):

encoders - that have some experience with AVS Scripts and x264. Profiles and Scripts will be provided so your encodings match the groups. if you dont already understand the process we can take you as an apprentice until you can produce encodings up to the quality of the group.

IRC - users who have a passion for anime and can act helpfully to visitors can expect moderator status with some time to make the channel look and function better.

XDCC Servers - people that can and are willing to host XDCC servers for the groups releases on our irc channel. these should be as user friendly as possible and preferably to be up 24/7.

BakaBT - people who can properly offer up our encodes to BakaBT and get the accepted. then properly seed or find someone who will because BakaBT requires all releases to be seeded forever.

Dedicated Seeders - people who can seed our torrents preferably using seedboxes 24/7. we will accept part time seeds as well if you really want to help

People - just people that are involved with the group enough to answer questions on forums and on IRC and just keep things lively

Reviewers - people who are willing to write short concise reviews of anime. the anime doesnt have to be anime we have done.

Downloaders - people who know how to use winny, share, and Perfect Dark and are willing to DL R2J DVDs and RAJ BDs that aren't available via torrent

As a group we have now decided to go fully with 2 pass ABR. we were leaning towards CRF but after testing found that it produces files that are totally inconsistent in size, not even relatively close some episodes in a series were double others. i just varies way 2 much especially when the audio is relatively equal is size.

the bitrates we have decided to go with are 1500kbps for SD and 6000kbps for HD. these may vary a bit especially for CG anime where alot more bitrate is needed to produce the same quality picture

After talking to other encoder/fansubers/professionals we decided to switch to CRF. we plan to use crf 16 for SD we have not decided on a value for HD yet but it is loosely set at 18 for now.

recently our group has looked into ordered chapter and file segment linking capabilities of mkv files and has decided to use them. we will be using separate files for the opening and ending. also when available the opening and ending will be creditless.
