I've never had a Labrador myself, but my uncle used to have one (I think he still might have, though a different one). They're very friendly, and quick to learn if you can get them interested. You say they are puppies; how old are they exactly? I'm sure your friend will tell you how to care for them, but here's few things to keep in mind.
Puppies have specific food, different from adult dogs. Some of the cheaper dog foods are not very good for the dog (especially if it's a puppy), so I recommend not to buy those, in case you need to buy them food. Unless your friend tells you which to buy, I suggest to buy some brand name food. Don't give them small bones, of if they're very young don't give them pig ears or anything like that either.
You should feed the dogs twice a day (even thrice if the puppies are very young). Don't give them food you eat. Food that's meant for people are not meant for dogs. They will have digestion problems, and can even have allergies. And always feed them at around the same time of the day (not at 7 on week days and at noon in the weekends).
Scold them if they bite you (even playfully) or if they jump at you, or if they're male, hump at you. Don't scold them if they don't know what you're scolding them for. If you can't scold them immediately after they've done something bad, then if you can, show them what they've done and scold them a bit (not too much in case they're confused).
Anyways, Labradors are one of the easiest dogs to take care of. Of course it's some work to take care of any kind of dog, but Labradors are very friendly and gentle. They're not as prone to chewing stuff either (like puppies tend to), so your furniture should stay safe. They're probably already learned to not piss inside the house, but if not, they will quickly learn (should learn in a week) if you take them outside every time they wake up, drink a lot, finish playing, or go around the house sniffing. So if you do decide to take care of them, I'm sure you won't have any problems. Good luck.
