Check the checkbox that says "extend the desktop onto this monitor" if its not greyed out (Display Settings). I dont know 'cuz I'm using Dell 2407FPW 24" LCD, its worth having big one instead of dual. Or I might go dual 24" in the future.

PS: I'm already on RC2.

Hmmm my advice to you is just make one, just stitch 2 picture together, extended means still one desktop.

I use a program called UltraMon for my desktop management.  I don't use dual monitors that much any more since SLI and multiple monitors aren't good bed fellows, but it's handy for switching the monitor profiles so I can watch anime on my HDTV Grin

Edit - UltraMon also has a "Smart Taskbar" which allows separate taskbars for each monitor.  It also supports multiple wallpapers and you can send windows to other monitors with the click of a button.

I've been running dual monitors for a few years. What video card do you have? I use an nVidia GeForce 9800GT w2GB GDDR2 driving 2 24" LCD monitors set to 1920x1200@. I have mine set to DualView which keeps the taskbar on the primary monitor but shows the wallpaper equally on both.
