TokyoTosho v3 Request for Comments

Background: I've been working on (yet another? but this one's mine) a personal program to extract torrents from the TT RSS feed and automatically feed them to rtorrent, sort them using anidb, etc.

One thing I've been missing from TT is the ability to specify how much of an RSS feed I want.
Right now, the first page says it'll always provide the last twelve hours; this would mean that, unless I only check every eleven hours or so, I'll always end up using more bandwidth than I really need to, and that benefits no-one.

So, I'd like to propose adding a 'since=<seconds since 1970 (UTC)>' option to the rss feed URLs.

It would be nice if that also allows an increase from the twelve-hour default, but I doubt I'd use that often. The main thing is be able to reduce it, so I can check, say, once per hour.

I'd like to see a "reencode" category added.
Just so it's possible to filter them out.
I mean seriously, reencodes? dammit mang I don't need a reencode for every video playing device known to man.

If possible, I'd hope that you add what users search in the title of the web document. I bookmark my search results, but its a problem when all of them have the same title name.

another thing is...make rss be able to feed search results
right now i filter through anime by typing something like (say for example im watching nyan koi from gg): gg nyan koi mkv
and it gives me the list i want, but sadly i cant RSS that

■ PS3, XBOX360 (and other common devices) compatibility icons [like for example, on the right side near Website | Details]
I think this will have advantages for both viewers and encoders.....
 -viewers will get the chance to choose whatever suits them ...
 -this idea might encourage more encoders for those machines (maybe?)

■  Adding the feature of details tool-tip... whenever you hover the details, you can view it without clicking... and for those who need to copy info just simply click on it to go to the classic details page. (not sure if it got posted before or not)

■ Trends [Anime series(full), Currently airing, Manga ... etc] it would be great to view trends (what people download mostly) as lists ...

■ The ability to download batch torrents (sometimes, its quite annoying to download torrents one by one... or is it only me !)

Field for group name
Field for series name
Field for AniDB/Anime News Network ID #s for linking

I would add more fields since reading the titles are quite tedious and could be easily normalized.

* Type: Already exists in current version
* Comment: Already exists in current version
* Website: Already exists in current version
* Number: Could be eps number, movie number, manga chapter number, etc
* Age rating:: General, Adult, Hentai, etc
* Resolution: 720p/1080p/etc
* Video Encoding: XviD/h.264/etc
* Audio Encoding: mp3, AAC
* Compatibility: PC/XBox/PS3/IPhone/etc
* Source: TV/DVD/CD/Streaming/Mangas/etc
* Reencode: yes/no (or could be merge with Source)

Since the language seems to be "integrated" in the category, I would suggest to Create Anime/Manga/Drama/Etc categories without binding the languages to it and add those 2 new fields:
* Languages: check box with: Japanese[], English [], french [], ..., Other [____]
* Subtitles: same as languages.

So we would have those simple categories and rely and the other fields:
* Category: TV, OVA, Movie, OST, Manga, Live Action, Art Book, Music Video

I know it would be a little bit more complex for uploaders, but for usage it would be a lot easier. Also, for the sorting it would be interesting, you could display the results in many different ways (like grouping or making tables with real-time sorting). I probably forgot some stuff like for batch, but I think you get the idea of what I would like.

Anyways. I third for a better search system. It doesnt have to be so complex but a checkbox search system would be cool; I know you've probably gone through the idea before since it is somewhat widely used among torrent sites, but it would really help to have an expanded language sortage for different categories.

For those tired of waiting for an option to filter out the stuff for portable devices.. or if you just want to filter out certain things. I've written a configurable blacklist for Greasemonkey.
So if you have Greasemonkey installed, install TokyoToshoLessIsMore and you'll be able to filter out things like [PSP]/iPod.

Would be nice if we could make it so that when a torrent link is clicked it ALWAYS will open the torrent instead of forwarding you to Anirena or wherever the hell it feels like sending you to click on yet another link.

Filter by Group search box would be nice as I'm too dumb to ever remember how to do it in the search box with boolean operators or whatnot.

I'll think on this more and edit to add more as it comes.
