hmm do u mean what file system....like fat or ntfs.....allocation unit?
or u wanna have 2 or more partations?
what the size of ur HD? is it new or the one in the pc?
what operating system ur using/going to use?

well....usually when i format my hd..(the internal one on my pc) i creat two partations...
1.C: this is to install windows ..i set it with 10GB,NTFS file system, its just for windows and other programs....
2.D: this is to keep my files and downloads..it takes all the remaining space left

if ur talking about allocation unit ..keep it default

I've got a 14 GB partition for windows and programs, and it works out great.

I have a 10 GB partition that I use solely to store windows and my page file

Program Files and My Documents have been moved to a separate partition.

I have a 14 GB partition for programs and backup, and a second partition of 86 GB for all other stuff.
And that's it, since i have a notebook which has less harddisk, because I live on my own during the midweek (from mondaymorning till saturdaymorning) , and stay at my parents during the weekends (saturday and sunday).
Anime and manga I all put on a 500 GB external disk and on DVD's.
