i dunno about macs, but with windows, they'll ask u for a name on first startup. maybe thats a reason?

Lol, I always only enter my own name, or Notebook, or something like computer 1, or 2. (Depends on the size of the network I'm going to be in.)

yes that is smart. i usually named it with my nickname and i ended up with two similar names on one network.

No name yet (just Maya) and there's good reason to name things :O  Electronic equipment runs much better when it has a name o.O  My bowling ball bowls better now she's named too ;P  I yell at her a lot "Mayu you little ***** you're gonna bowl better or I'll just use a HOUSE BALL".  And she always behaves Cheesy  My cars have run better with a name, and so did my laptop.  No joke!
