In any forums, these posts have the most posts.
Actually, "The Person Above You"  or "The random thoughts thread" (<-- can go by a different name though), thread usually has the most posts.

Okay, this may stir up some controversy, but this needs to be answered (to me):

How in gods name can you guys stand Japanese music? There's like...3 songs I have liked, and they were all by the same artist. Their rock over there is horrendous (as all the intrumentalists suck compared to good Western bands, I can't even think of a guitarist in the Asian countries who's as renowned or skilled as even lower-popularity guitarists like Tom Morello), and the pop is just as bad as it is over here. ****py lyrics set to a mind-numbing beat.

On the other hand, Western rock is home to thousands of great intrumentalists (including the best guitarists, dummers, bassists and vocalists ever (keyboard is the only thing I debate on whether the west owns the east in)), and is just...better. I mean, I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't know why any person who enjoyed music would pick, say, X-Japan over Iron Maiden, Metallica or other metal bands. The skill just isn't there.

The main reason I listen to any japanese music is because it's in the anime I''m watching/it reminds me of my favorite anime/scenes.

Well for me, Japanese music is kind of a blast from the past.  I spent the first 15 years of my life listening to stuff like Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey (when she was good), The Jets, then later Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, and other pretty easy listening stuff.  I've never liked Metallica or any kind of hard rock/metal band, as I prefer more upbeat, pop sounding songs I suppose.  Alot of JPOP artists have a sort of 80's to early 90's sound to em, which I suppose I like.  I also like the fact that most of the Japanese artists I like actually compose and write the lyrics for their songs, and I truly think they write these songs because they want to.  It seems like alot of American music is written by guys in the background who write songs based on what will sell.  I cant tell you the last time I've turned on MTV, Fuse, or any other music station to find a single song I liked.
